Gavin Skerritt
Gavin Skerritt has spent 15 years creating workshops and arts events for young people from all social backgrounds, both in the UK and Europe. In this time he has developed an innovative approach which is both fun and highly creative.
Whilst studying Gavin was rarely given the opportunity to mix art with drama and found it disappointing that they were always taught separately. It is for this reason that Gavin set up Open Stages, where young people receive classes in both theatre and art in one place and on the same course, giving an opportunity to explore and experiment with both disciplines in new and exciting ways. An environment is created which allows all children to flourish and succeed, teaching young people to recognise their strengths and to work with others to develop new skills both creative and personal.
Gavin also incorporates Research and Development of new work with schools and community groups, which has played a huge part in the development of his work.
