This delightful puppet making workshop introduces children to The Little Matchstick Girl, a wooden table-top puppet. Gavin Skerritt explains to the group how the puppet was made and the materials used. The children are then asked for their thoughts and questions regarding the story and plight of The Little Matchstick Girl.
Each child makes a very simple rod-puppet based on a character/person of their choice whom they feel The Little Matchstick Girl would like to meet (i.e. Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Tom thumb, etc,.
The workshop will end with each of the children’s puppets meeting The Little Matchstick Girl and a quick lesson into how to operate the puppet they have made.
This workshop lasts for 1 ½ hours and is suitable for children aged 6 and over. |
